Rocky Hill, one mile north, was the home of Lucy Jefferson Lewis, the youngest sister of Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence and third president of the U.S. Born in 1752 in Albemarle County, Virginia, she came to Kentucky in 1808 with her husband, Dr. Charles L. Lewis, who served in the Revolution, and their six children. Mrs. Lewis died in 1811 and was buried near her home.
