Edgartown honored its men and women who served their country in World War II from 1941 to 1945, listing those who served in the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Marines, and Maritime Service, and it also recorded Edgartown service members in the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953. The memorial was erected by the Town of Edgartown in 1968, with a committee that included Linwood J. Belisle, Oscar C. Pease, and Robert E. Convery.
