Dome Peak is a high, heavily glaciated mountain in the remote Glacier Peak Wilderness at the southeastern edge of Skagit County in Washington’s North Cascades. Less visited than many major Cascade summits, it is known as a demanding mountaineering objective rather than a routine hike. The mountain forms the southern end of the Ptarmigan Traverse and consists of two main summits joined by a narrow ridge, with the northeastern summit higher than the southwestern one. Surrounded by Chickamin, Dome, and Dana glaciers, it is deeply alpine in character. Albert H. Sylvester named it, and first ascents of its two summits were completed in July and August 1936.
