Greek Peak Mountain Resort
History
2
Founded in 1958 by members of the Cortland Ski Club, Greek Peak Mountain Resort grew from a regional ski hill into a year-round destination near Cortland in central New York. Early milestones included the first chairlift built in the region, expansion of terrain, night skiing, snowmaking, and partnerships with local schools, while Greek Peak Adaptive Sports began serving people with disabilities in 1974. In the 2000s the resort broadened beyond winter sports with Hope Lake Lodge, an indoor water park, and an Adventure Center. Today it combines downhill and Nordic skiing with mountain biking, tubing, zip lines, and conference and family amenities.
