On October 29, 1896, Charles Crocker, trustee of the Central Pacific Railroad, sold this property to John Butler, a druggist, who established the Colfax Drug Store, one of the oldest pharmacies in California. Richard K. Wayland, R.PHA, was associated with it from 1956 to 1997.
