The Bend Bulletin operated from this site from 1940 to 1966, making this building perhaps its most historically significant home among the several buildings it occupied over the years. On May 15, 1963, the newspaper changed its name. A 1910 photograph shows the earliest pioneers of The Bend Bulletin, including George Palmer Putnam, second from left, a dynamic young Easterner and a scion of the Putnam book publishing family.
