Bernardsville Train Station is a one-story stone structure with rounded corners and a hipped roof, built in 1901-1902. Its interior classical detailing is particularly notable, including several pair of Corinthian pilasters carved in oak. The architect, Bradford Gilbert, was a designer of national reputation noted for his station designs, and his fees and the station building costs were paid by Grant B. Schley, a major landowner and the founder of Far Hills. The original station, built in 1872, was removed to Mine Brook Road and is now the Bernardsville News office. Bernardsville was the western terminus of the Gladstone Branch until 1980, and an express train known as the "millionaire's express" made its first stop here after leaving Hoboken, with patrons provided an extra-fare club car. The station is listed on the National Register of Hisotric Places and is owned by New Jersey Transit.
