Industry
A carpenter crew maintained Fayette's buildings and also built and repaired wagons, carts and railroad cars and made doors, window sashes and coffins. Milled lumber was stocked in adjacent sheds. A large woodshop built here in 1867-68 might have housed E.H. Boehme’s photo gallery on the second floor, where a south-exposure skylight could have furnished the natural lighting needed in a photo studio.
