Gebhard Woods State Park is a 30-acre Illinois state park in Grundy County along the Illinois and Michigan Canal National Heritage Corridor, a 61-mile route recognized by the National Park Service. It also marks the end of the Shabbona Trail after the trail passes through Channahon State Park. The land originally belonged to Mrs. William Gebhard. In 1934, the Grundy County Rod & Gun Club bought the property for $1,500 and donated it to the state of Illinois to create the park. That transfer established the site as a public park and preserved the Gebhard name in the local landscape.
