Sugar Creek Cemetery, originally known as Collins Cemetery, was established in 1836 on land purchased in 1826 by C.B. Collins and is the oldest burial ground in Woodville Township. According to the History of Sandusky County, published in 1882 by H.Z. Williams & Bros., the first burial was Mrs. C.B. Collins in 1836. Several other area families buried relatives there. By 1882 the cemetery was no longer being used and was in disrepair, and today most of the grave markers have disappeared and only a few burial sites can be identified.
