The Burlington Northern Freight Depot, also known as the Northern Pacific Company and Freight Depot, is a contributing property in the Old North Yakima Historic District, which was created and placed on the National Register on May 2, 1986, by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of Interior. Built in the Mission Revival style, the structure is an excellent example of period revival design from the early twentieth century. The building was the hub of early railroad shipping and receiving, and much of the commercial products that supplied early Yakima City were brought there by the Northern Pacific Railroad and distributed from that site.
