The Newsom Crushed Stone and Quarry Company began operating at this site in 1904, digging several quarries, the largest of which later became Hidden Lake. The limestone quarried here was used in a variety of construction applications throughout Nashville, but primarily in concrete block manufacturing, then a new technology. To move the stone to the main railroad, a spur track or siding known as Fuller's Siding was built, and quarried limestone was crushed on site and hauled out on small rail cars to the railroad north of here. The company grew extensively, but by March 1913 had outgrown this site and moved to southeastern Davidson County. When the company opened, it needed workers, and a community known as Fuller's Siding grew around the rail siding, with likely several small houses and company buildings and social activity noted in early twentieth-century newspapers. At least one former worker is buried here in an unknown location. After the company moved operations in 1913, the town went with it, the quarry was flooded, and by 1916 the site was known as Hidden Lake.
