The James Museum of Western and Wildlife Art in St. Petersburg, Florida, opened in 2018 from the collection built by Tom and Mary James and established with $75 million. Devoted to art of the American West and wildlife subjects, it houses thousands of traditional and contemporary works in eight galleries. Its architecture echoes themes inside, using veined sandstone, carvings inspired by Mesa Verde cliff dwellings, and weathered copper and turquoise panels.
