Blacktail Mountain Ski Area is an alpine downhill skiing destination in northwestern Montana above the western shore of Flathead Lake. Known for its views over one of the region’s most prominent landscapes, it has four lifts: the Olympic triple chair in the center, the Thunderhead and Crystal double chairs on either side, and a handle tow for a beginner training hill. Its 26 runs emphasize intermediate terrain while also including beginner and expert slopes, plus a terrain park. Two expert runs pass through an open field of trees, and the base lodge offers ski rentals, dining, and a restaurant for day skiers.
