Lincolnton Presbyterian Church and Lincolnton Cemetery were approved and accepted on the National Historic Register by act in 1966. The land was donated by Peter Lamar on March 3, 1823, for religious and educational purposes. The Lincolnton Garden Club was organized by Mrs. Ruth Hogan Armstrong in 1950 and restored the site for perpetual care in 1974. Present members listed are Mrs. Iris N. Sales, president, Mrs. Edith M. Aycock, Mrs. Wenona S. Cox, Mrs. Elese H. Deason, Mrs. Thelma W. Hammond, Mrs. Lennie N. Hardin, Mrs. Alice D. Lewis, and Mrs. Frances C. Prater.
