Fitzpatrick Wilderness is a designated wilderness area in Wyoming within Shoshone National Forest. Originally called the Glacier Primitive Area, it was redesignated as wilderness in 1976. Managed under the U.S. Wilderness Act of 1964, it is protected from road construction, permanent structures, logging, and mining. Motorized and mechanized travel, including bicycles, is prohibited. At the same time, national forest wilderness rules allow certain low-impact uses there, including camping, fishing with the proper permit, and seasonal hunting.
