Bastion Peak-Northeast Peak is a 13,476-foot summit in Wyoming’s Wind River Range, standing beside the higher Bastion Peak and connected to it by a southwest-running arête. Its east face rises sharply above an unnamed glacier, while Gannett Glacier lies to the south, reinforcing the heavily glaciated, alpine character of the area. Height, ice, and steep rock make this part of the range notably severe, and the mountain shares the region’s many objective hazards, including falls and rockfall on class 4 and 5 terrain. Its importance lies in representing one of Wyoming’s most rugged high-mountain landscapes rather than a developed destination.
