Maple Hill is a mountain in northeastern Sussex County, New Jersey, within the New York–New Jersey Highlands of the Appalachian Mountains. Rising to 1,224 feet, it is one of the region’s modest but rugged uplands that help define this landscape. The Appalachian Trail passes nearby without ascending the summit, leaving Maple Hill close to one of the eastern United States’ most prominent long-distance routes while remaining slightly separate from the trail itself. Its significance lies in its place within the broader Highlands terrain rather than as a major named summit along the trail.
