Three Sisters Springs is a group of natural springs in Kings Bay on the Crystal River, where three second-magnitude spring areas maintain a steady warm temperature that makes the site one of the most important winter refuges for manatees in the Crystal River system. It is also the only confined-water body in the United States where the public can see wintering manatees. After private ownership ended in 2010, the land became protected refuge property managed for conservation, with seasonal sanctuary rules, restricted water access, and added visitor facilities. Restoration projects have stabilized eroding shorelines, while the springs and surrounding habitat also support birds such as osprey, anhinga, and sandhill crane.
