Tanque Verde Falls is a series of seasonal waterfalls in Tanque Verde Canyon east of Tanque Verde and Tucson in southern Arizona, in a rugged desert canyon near Redington Road between the Tucson Basin and the San Pedro River valley. Though accessible by a maintained parking area and hiking trail, the site is widely known as hazardous. The Southern Arizona Hiking Club maintains access, and the U.S. Forest Service significantly improved the trail in 2024, yet the canyon has a long history of serious accidents. At least 30 deaths have been recorded there from falls and flash flooding, underscoring how quickly conditions can turn dangerous at a seasonal desert waterfall.
