Cline Falls State Scenic Viewpoint is a nine-acre day-use park on the Deschutes River near Redmond in central Oregon. Established on state-acquired land in the 1950s, it is named for nearby Cline Falls, which were named after Redmond dentist Dr. Cass A. Cline, though the falls themselves lie outside the park boundary. The park is valued as Redmond’s nearest riverfront park, with lawns, riparian habitat, canyon rimrock, and varied birdlife. Visitors picnic, swim, fish, boat, and tube there, and paddlers use it as a takeout or launch point on the river. The site is also remembered for the unsolved 1977 attack on Shayna Weiss and Terri Jentz.
