Luxor Las Vegas is a landmark resort on the south Las Vegas Strip, distinguished by its black-glass pyramid, giant Sphinx, and powerful sky beam. Developed by Circus Circus Enterprises, it was announced in 1991, opened in 1993 with all rooms inside the pyramid, and later expanded in 1996 and 1997 with two hotel towers. Its vast atrium, inclined elevators, and beam made it an engineering and visual standout. Originally built around an immersive Egyptian theme, the resort later shifted with the Strip toward a more adult-focused style. Despite repeated renovations and ownership changes, it remains one of Las Vegas’s most recognizable buildings.
