This building originally opened in 1939 as the Greendale Theatre, with a feature starring Mickey Rooney as Andy Hardy. During the Great Depression, dish nights helped boost attendance by giving away free cups, plates, and other pieces weekly so patrons could complete dinnerware sets. Parts of the ticket office and marquee are still visible.
