Peafowl are native to India, and the males, known as peacocks, are brightly colored to attract females, or peahens. Guineafowl are native to Africa, and their keen eyesight enables them to prey on invertebrates. Wild turkeys are true American originals, and thanks to successful reintroduction programs throughout their former range, they have made a huge comeback and are now quite common. All three species are omnivores, eating seeds, fruit, insects, and other small animals. Peafowl and guineafowl are part of the zoo collection, while the turkeys have settled in for the excellent accommodations.
