Roosevelt Glacier lies on the north slopes of Mount Baker in Washington’s North Cascades, descending to nearly 5,000 feet at Chromatic Moraine and standing out among the mountain’s major upper-flank ice features. Along part of its course, it connects with Coleman Glacier to the south, showing how broad, linked icefields shape this side of Mount Baker. The glacier was named for Theodore Roosevelt, though he never saw the mountain himself. It remains part of the rugged alpine landscape that defines Mount Baker’s glaciated summit region.
