In June 1965, founder and developer Daniel Weltzien purchased the property known as William’s Black Angus Farm and, using his entrepreneurial skills, bartered his dream of a family airport. The airport’s main building was a bank barn with Snoopy painted on the side. After a mysterious fire in August 1974, a new building was built and dedicated to Captain Allan Trent, a pilot missing in the Vietnam War.
