Built in 1908 in River Forest, Illinois, the Isabel Roberts House is a Prairie Style residence generally attributed to Frank Lloyd Wright and created for Isabel Roberts and her mother, Mary. Its significance lies not only in its Wright association but also in Roberts’s own possible role in its design, reflecting her deeper participation in the creative work of Wright’s Oak Park studio. Often described as an early split-level house, it features hallmark Prairie elements and a striking tall living room. Later renovations by William Drummond and Wright blended its original Prairie character with later Usonian ideas, while its history also connects to Roberts’s later architectural career in Florida.
