The Jupiter Lighthouse Museum was dedicated on June 2, 1973 by U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Richard Harvey, Lightkeeper BMI K.C. Campbell, the Loxahatchee Historical Society, Inc. president Ethel Gravett, and charter president Dr. John Ray. It was placed on the National Register of Historical Places in 1973 and was awarded the George Washington Honor Medal in 1973 by the Freedom Foundation.
