The Dove Block was designed by Rochester architect Andrew Jackson Warner. Geneva contractor and businessman William G. Dove commissioned and opened the commercial block in 1878, and it was operated by his son Paul Dove until 1978. Elizabeth Wenman rescued the building in 2006, and it was later restored by The Dove Block Restoration Group. DCMB Ventures purchased the building in 2021. The building is dedicated to Arthur Dove, the renowned modern American artist.
