Scorpion Mountain rises in Washington’s central Cascades, in Snohomish County near Skykomish, and is known chiefly as a hiking destination. A ridge route leads to its summit, where broad views open across the surrounding mountains. From the top, the panorama extends a full 360 degrees and includes Glacier Peak to the north. The approach is especially notable for its exposure, as the trail follows a ridge with steep slopes falling away on both sides. That exposed route gives the climb much of its distinctive character while also making it hazardous.
