Lichtenberg Mountain is a 5,844-foot summit in Washington’s Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest near Stevens Pass, rising steeply above Lake Valhalla and more gradually above Lichtenwasser Lake. Its runoff reaches tributaries of Nason Creek and then the Wenatchee River. The mountain stands in the North Cascades, a landscape formed through millions of years of tectonic and volcanic activity, including the accretion of terranes, and later reshaped by repeated Pleistocene glaciation that carved the area’s deep valleys. It lies in a marine west coast climate zone influenced by Pacific weather systems, bringing heavy winter precipitation, frequent snowfall, and notable avalanche danger, with clearer summers under seasonal high pressure.
