The second Congregational Church on this site was built in 1845 after the first church, constructed in 1816, was sold and moved to Nashua that same year. It was built to accommodate the growing parish as the town's population had shifted to this area. The building underwent major renovations in 1869 and 1891. As the largest denomination in Goffstown during the town's early years, the Congregational Church has been a center of community life since the town's founding.
