In 1908, led by Lydia Titensor, the women of the Relief Society of the Thayne Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints decided they wanted a room for their quilting. When Bishop George G. Miller was approached for help, the sisterhood was informed that there was no money for such a project. Not to be deterred, the Relief Society took the matter into their own hands and raised the necessary funds. Soon the building was complete. In 1951, the Daughters of Utah Pioneers Silver Star Camp raised $300 to purchase the building from the Church. Silver Star Camp members continue to hold their meetings here today, and historical artifacts of the area are on display inside the building. The founding of Silver Star Camp in 1938 with sixteen members was the beginning of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in Star Valley. In 1941, Lincoln Company was organized by the Camp; today there are six camps and 135 members throughout Star Valley.
