Large holes visible throughout the pueblo resulted from illegal digging by treasure seekers and pot hunters. Such careless vandalism destroys scientific information, desecrates ancient and sacred burials, and interferes with existing spiritual energy because many Hopi clans consider this and other sites to be ancestral and spiritual homes.
