From Barneston, Nebraska, to Red Rock, Oklahoma, Otoe and Missouria Indians used this trail along the Big Blue River from 1871 to 1881 while seeking new lands in Indian Territory. By 1882, all of these Indians had been removed to reservations near Red Rock, Oklahoma.
