Christopher Mathewson was born at Factoryville, Pennsylvania, on August 12, 1880. He was educated at Keystone Academy and Bucknell University, where he was enrolled from September 1898 to June 1901. At Bucknell he was historian of the freshman class, a baseball pitcher, president of the junior class, a football fullback, a member of the Euepian Literary Society, a basketball center, a member of the Glee Club, a member of the Theta Delta Tau Fraternity Band, and a member of the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity. He died at Saranac Lake, New York, on October 7, 1925.
