Tip Toe Falls
Nature
Tip Toe Falls is a small but intricate waterfall on Fall Creek in Portola Redwoods State Park in California’s redwood country. It has two tiers: a better-known lower drop about 6 feet high and a lesser-known upper falls a few hundred feet upstream at about 8 feet. In a steep, mossy ravine, the creek slips over the upper tier into a shallow pool, passes through a fern-lined meadow between rock walls more than 50 feet high, and then pours into a round pool at the lower tier before continuing toward Pescadero Creek. Its appeal comes largely from its redwood setting, mossy rock, and dense undergrowth.
