Transportation
3
At the first crossing in Mad Canyon on the Carson Trail, Caroline L. Richardson wrote on Sep 12, 1852, that the river was filled with large rocks, that the party crossed on a bridge but expected to ford it in the future, and that they then started through Mad Canyon, which she called rightly named and the hardest place for teams she had ever seen.
