Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1864 as the first colored church in Meade County, established in conjunction with the efforts of Buck Grove Baptist Church on land donated by Brother Cato VanMeter, with Rev. Andrew Allen as the first pastor. During segregation, the church fellowship hall served as the grade school for the Zion Grove community. The church has served as a beacon of love, hope and pride in the community.
