Freedom Park is dedicated to celebrating the freedoms Americans enjoy and honoring the commitments of those who provide and protect those freedoms. The steel artifact was retrieved from the World Trade Center in New York City after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. It symbolizes the sorrow and travail that must sometimes be endured in pursuit of freedom and independence.
