Connersville, Indiana, developed through a series of local milestones: an early Indian trail in 1669 connected Cincinnati to northern trading posts; the first blockhouse was established in 1812; the first public square followed in 1813; Parker, then Fayette County Seminary, was established in 1828; the first public school came in 1858; the first high school was added in 1874; Fifth St. Grade School served until 1971; and in 1977 Wendy's "Old Fashioned Hamburgers" Restaurant appeared.
