The route crossed at Ditto's Landing, passed over Brindlee Mountain into Brown's Vally, and then over Sand Mountain into Coosa Valley during General Andrew Jackson's movement of Tennessee troops to the Creek Indian War in 1813-14. It later became the first wagon road in Marshall County.
