Cottonwood Forest Wilderness
Nature
Cottonwood Forest Wilderness is a 2,643-acre protected wilderness area in Utah within Dixie National Forest near the base of the Pine Valley Mountains. It borders the Cottonwood Canyon Wilderness in the Red Cliffs National Conservation Area, linking it to a broader expanse of conserved land in southwestern Utah. Federal wilderness designation came on March 30, 2009, through the Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009, securing protection for the area's undeveloped character as part of the region's preserved landscapes.
