Trinidad State Beach lies in the seaside town of Trinidad on California’s far northern coast, along Trinidad Bay beneath Trinidad Head. Known for its rocky shoreline, offshore sea stacks, and colorful intertidal tide pools, it is valued for both scenic beauty and marine study, with specimens collected here for Cal Poly Humboldt’s Fred Telonicher Marine Laboratory. The offshore rocks are also part of the California Coastal National Monument, giving the area added conservation importance. With easy access from town and nearby protected coastal parks to the south and north, the beach forms part of a notable stretch of preserved shoreline.
