A live oak propagated in 1852 stood at this church property, which had been given in 1770, and live oak trees there came to represent strong roots, a solid base, and a majestic stand. These trees graced the property for generations and were silent witnesses to long stretches of time, historical change, and faithful parishioners passing beneath them. The Red Church Oak stood in this very location for 161 years before falling in 2013.
