The Calhoun County Courthouse was erected in 1885 with A. Woods serving as judge of probate, J.W. Anderson, A.M. Stewart, J.C. Watson, and B.B. Nunnelly as commissioners, and Joe. B. Patton as architect and builder; that courthouse was destroyed by fire in 1925.
