This memorial honors Confederate soldiers as people who, in the words of those who raised it, resisted oppression and injustice, defended truth and right, fought for their native land, and endured hardship and sacrifice. It presents their memory as a sacred trust to be perpetuated with love and devotion, and it was erected at Ebenezer by the S.D. Barron Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in 1908.
