Palmerton Arboretum in Rogue River, Oregon, is a five-acre collection on the site of a tree nursery established in the 1930s. With free admission, it brings together nearly 90 species of trees and shrubs from around the world, including more than 40 species of mature trees such as Japanese pines, Mediterranean cedars, redwoods, and plants native to the Pacific Northwest. Labeled plantings, along with azaleas and rhododendrons, make it a botanical destination, while a duck pond, playground, and picnic area also give it the character of a community park.
