The Mormon Trail of 1847 and Military Road of 1856 passed through an area first settled by George Young and Robert Millar on July 4, 1856, with the settlement located 30 rods southwest of the place where Seth Young, the first son of Dodge County settlers, was born on Nov. 30, 1856.
