Colonel Christopher Greene and Major Ebenezer Flagg of the First Rhode Island Regiment of the Continental Army were killed two miles south of this spot on May 14th, 1781, and Lieutenant Abraham Dyckman, a noted Westchester guide, was mortally wounded at Eastchester on March 3rd, 1782; this is their burial place.
